2017 AFCON: Le Roy Drops Rivers United’s Douhadji From Togo Squad

Togo's head coach Claude Le Roy has left out Rivers United defender, Joseph Douhadji from his final 23-man squad for the 2017 Africa of Cup of Nations (AFCON) billed for Gabon, reports Completesportsnigeria.com. The Rivers United defender who was a surprise inclusion in the preliminary squad, missed out on the continent's biggest football showpiece along with Victor Nukafu. But there was a place for inactive skipper Emmanuel Adebayor and  Alaixys Romao of Olympiacos.
The Sparrow Hawks are in Group C along with Morocco, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and defending champions, Ivory Coast. Gabon 2017 CAF Africa Cup of Nations will run from January 14 to February 2, 2017.
