With the Premier League transfer window closing on August 9, the deals kicked off early and already 280 million euros has been plundered in what could be another record year of spending.
Across both windows in 2017/18, clubs reached 2.049 billion euros in transfer outlays with Liverpool the first to breach 100m euros this time around.
That has gone on Fabinho and Naby Keita, whose arrival was agreed last summer, whereas Manchester United have sealed the double purchase of Fred and Diogo Dalot for a combined 82m euros.
Biggest deals done so far
Fabinho: Monaco-Liverpool: 60m euros
Fred: Shakhtar Donetsk-Manchester United: 60m euros
Naby Keita: RB Leipzig-Liverpool: 52m euros
Ricardo Pereira: Porto-Leicester: 22m euros
Diogo Dalot: Benfica-Manchester United: 22m euros
With Leicester City also completing two deals thus far, it leaves the likes of Chelsea, Spurs, Everton and Arsenal, who have only signed Stephan Lichtsteiner on a free transfer, still to get involved with 22 days of the market gone.
Interestingly, the World Cup is yet to commence and many clubs will be hoping to either make a good profit on those who perform in Russia or pick up a hidden gem once the tournament ends.
Of those who have moved in the Premier League already, only three are to play at the World Cup; Leicester's Ricardo Pereira, Lichtsteiner, and the now-injured Fred.
Also likely to have a big impact on spending over the coming months are the coaching changes that have occurred in England ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.
Marco Silva, Unai Emery and Manuel Pellegrini are the new men in charge at Everton, Arsenal and West Ham, respectively, and will want to make their mark, while Antonio Conte and Mauricio Pochettino's future is still somewhat up in the air, particularly for the Chelsea boss.
