A goalfest at Anfield for Real Madrid legends

1 month ago  Raphael   Sport News

In a highly entertaining encounter, Real Madrid and Liverpool legends engaged in a charity match at Anfield, with the Reds winning a seven-goal thriller.
Two of Europe's most celebrated and historic sides joined together in front of 54,000 people, as the entire stadium honoured Ronnie Moran with a minute of silence.
The match marked Steven Gerard's first return to his boytown club, while ex-Madrid striker and Liverpool man Michael Owen opened the scoring.
Fowler, Butraguemo, Riise, Figo, Luís Garcia, Seedorf, Dudek, Morientes were just some of the few aging stars that still are eager to show they have plenty of football left in them, even years after their respective retirements.
Liverpool had gotten out to a 3-0 lead, but Real Madrid were able to make more of a contest out of it and only fall by one.
