Goal of the tournament award

Nigeria Super Eagles forward Ahmed Musa has one of his goals against Iceland in Nigeria’s second group game at the FIFA World Cup in Russia nominated for the Goal of the tournament.

The goal was top notch as the Leicester City forward received a long clearance from Kenneth Omeruo before leveraging on his speed to outrun his markers then rounding off the goalkeeper before slotting in the second goal.

There are other seventeen goals gunning for the award as Lionel Messi goal against Nigeria and Croatia Captain Luka Modric’s wonderful strike against Argentina.

Other strikes competing with Musa for the award is the two look alike goals from both Spain’s Nacho Fernandez strike against Portugal and Benjamin Pavard strike against Argentina in the Quarter Finals.

Football Fans all across the World will choose the overall Goal of the World Cup not later than Monday, July 23. Fans are expected to cast their vote on FIFA website before then.
