Chelsea forward Diego Costa is a doubt for Spain's friendly against France on Tuesday after receiving a heavy blow to the ankle during training.
Excelling under Julen Lopetegui, the former Atletico Madrid man notched once again against Israel last time out and was expected to feature at some stage in Saint-Denis.
However Costa was rushed to Madrid's Clinica Sanitas La Moraleja for tests on Sunday after the knock was picked up, and while a full blown bone injury has been avoided, his presence in Paris is under threat.
With Chelsea informed of his situation, the striker is to stay with the Spain squad for now as the team physios monitor his condition and make a decision on whether he can face France before Lopetegui's men travel north.
