Danny Welbeck scored twice as Arsenal registered their place in the Europa League quarter-finals on Thursday, beating AC Milan 3-1 on the night and 5-1 on aggregate.
The visitors struck an early blow at Emirates Stadium via Hakan Calhanoglu's special strike from distance although the momentum was knocked out of them by Danny Welbeck's tumble under seemingly no contact in the area, winning a penalty which the Englishman duly converted.
Another long-range effort, this time for Granit Xhaka, secured the Gunners' passage after 71 minutes before Welbeck added another on the verge of full-time.
Joining Arsenal in the quarter-finals are the first ever Austrian side to make it to this stage of the competition, Salzburg, who drew 0-0 at home to Borussia Dortmund having won the first leg 2-1 in Germany.
Their celebrations were almost matched by that of Sporting CP, who scored in extra-time to knock out Viktoria Plzen whilst in France there was a shock as CSKA Moscow overturned a first leg deficit to beat Lyon on away goals.
Friday's draw will also feature RB Leipzig after they claimed a 3-2 aggregate triumph over Zenit St. Petersburg, as well as Lazio who claimed a comfortable return leg with away to Dynamo Kyiv.
Spanish sides Atletico Madrid and Athletic Club endured very different nights, the capital club smashing Lokomotiv Moscow 5-1 in Russia with the Bilbao side losing to Marseille in a 5-2 aggregate defeat.
