Arsenal in talks with Juventus boss Max Allegri over taking over from under-fire Arsene Wenger next season. According to the Sun, the Gunners have been in touch with Allegri’s camp in the last seven days to discuss the possibility of the Italian succeeding Wenger. Arsenal chiefs are wondering if Wenger should stay on, while the manager’s own failure to state his position is causing tensions. There is also a feeling the club needs a director of football and former winger Marc Overmars has been touted for the role. But Wenger is understood to be resistant to such a move. The unstable situation has forced Arsenal to keep tabs on potential successors and Allegri, 49 is high on their wishlist. He has won League and Cup doubles in each of his first two seasons at Juve and is on course for more silverware this season.
