Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has hit back at his critics

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka remains unfazed by criticism aimed at his disciplinary record, insisting that it's his style of play. The Switzerland international has been booked 11 times this season and sent off twice, but believes he has improved since his last red card. Xhaka got on the scoresheet at the weekend, netting the Gunners' opener against Manchester United in a 2-0 victory at the Emirates Stadium.

"In football you get criticised if you are sent off," the 24-year-old told Goal. "It's my style of play and nobody can make me change that. "Even if I get another red card, then that happens. You become cleverer, maybe look more and since my red card, I think things have improved. "It's not like I played my first football match in England. For me football is pretty much the same everywhere, the ball is round, but maybe tactically things are different than at other clubs I've played for."
