Arsenal and Bournemouth took part in one of the best Premier League games of the season of Tuesday evening, playing out a 3-3 draw at Dean Court. The Cherries romped into a 2-0 lead inside the opening 20 minutes, with Ryan Fraser adding a third before the 60 minute mark. By this time, the ‘Wenger Out’ brigade had resurfaced on social media, with a host of fans urging the Gunners to replace their French manager.
And although goals from Sanchez, Perez and Giroud levelled the game at 3-3, these calls did not disappear at the full time whistle. For all the character and fight shown by the Arsenal players in the final 20 minutes, the first half performance could not be excused – and many blamed Wenger entirely for the showing.
