Saturday's lunchtime Premier League match between Arsenal and West Bromwich Albion was surrounded by two curious moments involving Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger, neither of which was to do with what happened on the pitch - an embarrassing 3-1 defeat for the Gunners.

A plane hired by Arsenal supporters flew over The Hawthorns stadium with the following message: "No contract, #WengerOut."

Bizarrely, another plane was seen minutes later, this time defending the French tactician.

"In Arsene we trust #RespectAW."

The 'air war' swiftly ended, but we'll see at the end of the season which side will win this particular battle.
