Arsenal target ready to accept pay-cut in order to force a move as he his unhappy at his present club

Dalian Yifang attacker Yannick Carrasco is reportedly willing to accept a lower salary to secure a move to Arsenal in 2019. According to Calcio Mercato, the Belgian is unhappy in the Chinese Super League and hoping for a move back to Europe as soon as possible, despite currently earning £9m per-year in the far east. Calcio Mercato reports that Arsenal have the edge in the race to sign the 25-year-old, as he would like to work with Gunners boss Unai Emery, but AC Milan are also desperate to land his signature and Manchester United are thought to be monitoring his situation.
Arsenal are currently fifth in the Premier League and in real danger of missing out on a place in the Champions League next season, with inconsistency their biggest issue over the first half of the campaign. Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette lead the line at Emirates Stadium and although they have scored plenty of goals between them this term, Emery’s starting XI is lacking direct, creative players capable of providing service for the pair.
Carrasco would certainly add extra quality to Arsenal’s team in the final third and his previous experience at the highest level of European football with Atletico Madrid would surely see him make the transition to English football seamlessly. The Belgium international is a delight to watch at his best, full of tricks and in complete command of the ball when dribbling past players, while also a good decision maker in the business end of the pitch.
Arsenal are hoping to tie up a deal for Carrasco in January, which would be a huge boost for the Gunners in their pursuit of a place in the top four, but they will have to act quickly to secure his services ahead of their European rivals.
