Arsenal told to pay £72 million for their top target in January

3 weeks from now  Raphael   Sport News

Premier League giants, Arsenal have been told that they will have to pay €80million (£72million) for Lille striker, Nicolas Pepe during the January transfer window. Pepe has been heavily linked with a move to join the Gunners in recent months. The Ivorian international has scored 12 goals and assisted five for Lille so far this campaign.
Speaking about Pepe’s price tag, Lille chief, Luis Campos told Telefoot on Sunday that any club which wants to sign the 23-year-old will have to pay €80million. “Pepe’s value is €80million,” Campos said. “But any club will also have to convince the player.”
Meanwhile, French outlet, L’Equipe, recently claimed that Lille were open to selling Pepe in the January window, with Arsenal in pole position to sign him. Cristian Pavon could be an alternative to Pepe if Arsenal can’t stump up £72m. Another name potentially being considered is Boca Juniors winger Cristian Pavon, who could be considerably better value than Pepe. Arsenal would be able to land the Argentina international for under £40m and are believed to have been tracking his progress for the past 18 months. The Gunners are also looking at recruiting a new centre-back.
