Aubrey Modiba: SuperSport United must shape up against Polokwane City

SuperSport United winger Aubrey Modiba feels the team have not been doing themselves justice by dropping points in recent matches. Matsatsantsa have struggled for results in the league in the business end of the campaign, and will hope to collect maximum points against Polokwane City at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday after drawing their previous two games with Kaizer Chiefs and Bloemfontein Celtic. SuperSport are fifth on the table with 42 points from 26 games - 12 points adrift of leaders Bidvest Wits and five ahead of sixth-placed Rise and Shine.

Modiba told his club's website: “This is another important match for us. We must go all out and fight as a unit for positive result. We have been dropping points and we are not being fair to ourselves. “City are a good side; they are sitting in the top eight and want to consolidate a place in the bracket and qualify for the MTN8 tournament.  Also, we must be cautious because they want to settle the score based on our first-round result,” he said, referring to the 2-1 win in the reverse fixture at Lucas Moripe Stadium in December. Modiba added: “We must win this one to give our fans something to smile about. It’s not going to be a walk in the park but we will fight for maximum points.” United will lose the services of coach Stuart Baxter at the end of the season when the Brit returns to take charge of Bafana Bafana.
