France striker Karim Benzema scored a brace either side of half-time to put Madrid in control. Copenhagen's 2-0 victory at Club Brugge was only enough to confirm their passage to the Europa League, after Porto's 5-0 drubbing of Leicester City. Legia Warsaw beat Sporting Lisbon 1-0 to leapfrog them in Group F and claim a Europa League spot. Bayer Leverkusen beat Monaco 3-0, but still finished second behind the French club in Group E.
