As much as the coaches and the players of Barcelona and Real Madrid deny it publicly, the truth is that the one follows closely what the other does both on and off the pitch, and the Catalans feel they have just cause to complain about favourable treatment being given to Los Blancos.
Both know that if their eternal rival is well, something bad is just around the corner, so they'll look at how each is treated by referees and the media.On this last issue there is a certain discomfort at the Camp Nou.
Barcelona feels there is a huge difference in terms of the treatment they receive from the mass media with respect to the refereeing controversies.
For example, they are aggrieved by what happened after the match against Paris Saint-Germain.
Barcelona do not understand the stir caused by the performance of Denis Aytekin and the amount of information published in this regard.
Nor do they understand when Real Madrid are favoured by refereeing errors - as they were against Betis - and there is not as much impact.In fact, it is not something that is too surprising to Barcelona's squad, who at some point this season have even demonstrated their displeasure to the board.
Although the Catalan club considers it a lost battle and takes it with some resignation, there is no less displeasure behind closed doors.
