Barcelona to receive 50 million euros for this player on loan

Barcelona have a couple of players on loan which there are clause of an option to buy. Players like Paulinho and Yerry Mina are still on loan at their individual side from the catalan side.
After contemplating in the summer, both Barcelona and Paulinho decided that it would be in their best interests for the player to return to China. The Brazilian midfielder returns to his former club Guangzhou Evergrande on a one-year loan deal, with an option to make the move permanent.
When he signed for the club in the summer of 2017 for a fee of €40 million, fans and critics alike lashed out at the club for signing a Premier League reject who plied his trade in the Chinese Super League, and did not fit the club’s philosophy and style of play.
But Paulinho silenced his critics, becoming a goalscoring midfielder. He made 49 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring 9 goals. Often, his goals made the difference and his debut goal was a last-gasp matchwinner against Getafe.
But in the latter stages of last Laliga season, Paulinho lost his momentum but nonetheless, was effective coming off the bench.
With the arrival of Arthur Melo from Grêmio in the summer, Paulinho’s position in the pecking order was always in question. The move for Arthur would be complemented by Yerry Mina’s departure in order to comply to the La Liga registration rules.
The Blaugrana already know they will receive 50 million euros in January 2019 as Guangzhou Evergrande have committed in writing to paying the full fee for Paulinho.
The purchase option for the Brazilian midfielder was embedded as part of the loan deal which took him back to the Chinese Super League after just one season in LaLiga Santander with the Catalan giants.
The reason for such a convoluted loan deal was that the Chinese club hoped to secure the midfielder's signature in a way which doesn't go against the rules of Chinese football.
There have been very strict spending limits imposed on domestic clubs after an initial splurge which truly caught the attention of everyone in the sport, so they made clear that they had loaned Paulinho with a non-compulsory purchase option.
Los Cules had been eager to raise cash and thus agreed to the deal despite the fact there was no contractual obligation for Guangzhou to pay them.
However, written proof has now arrived in the Camp Nou offices and the club can begin to count on receiving this money in the final year 2018/19. The Blaugrana held a fiscal press conference on Tuesday and they presented a budget which included the income of 137 million euros in transfer fees.
