Baroka FC are planning an entertainment-filled day ahead of Saturday’s Absa Premiership clash against Kaizer Chiefs, with the fans’ safety a priority. Winless in 14 league encounters, Bakgaga face a challenging task against the high-flying Soweto giants at Peter Mokaba Stadium, with entertainment on and off the pitch scheduled for Saturday evening. A press statement from the club reads as follows: ‘Baroka FC will host Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday 18 March 2017 at Peter Mokaba Stadium. ‘The game is scheduled for 20h15; gates will open at 15h30 with a lot of razzmatazz at the stadium. Supporters are requested to come early for the game to reduce the congestion towards kick-off. The team assembled by the technical team through the support of management is ready to give the supporters their money’s worth.
‘All stakeholders have been involved in preparing for this big game, security in and out of the stadium is arranged to make it the point that supporters are safe, health personnel will be deployed around the stadium in case of emergencies. ‘Refreshment cubicles will be open from 15h30. The two teams played well over the past weekend, so we anticipate a large crowd. Branches of both teams will help supporters reach the stadium through their structures. ‘We have organised benefits of schools that come in numbers to cheer the club. This arrangement will be done by the schools themselves to be part of the event through the marketing department of the club.
There will be a full programme throughout the day including the launching of benefit structures of supporters. ‘Tickets are on sale at Shoprite Checkers.’ The two sides last met in the league in November, playing out a 0-0 draw.
