Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has revealed his club are already planning on how they will survive without Lionel Messi. He knows the Blaugranas can't have Messi forever and he believes the club need to start preparing for life after the Argentine wizard.
Bartomeu claims that one of their plans to survive during the post-Messi's era is by bringing in new players which the club have been doing for the past four seasons but the 32-year-old has always been outshining those new players as he is still performing at an incredible level.
In Bartomeu's revelation, he claims the Catalans need to start building towards the future, with him surely into his final few years at the Camp Nou.
"I think we have an obligation to work on the post-Messi era," Bartomeu explained to Reuters.
"We're already thinking about it by bringing in new players. "As president, I hope that Leo is with us for many more years but we have to think about the change for when he decides it's time to stop playing."
