Bayern Munich laboured to a 4-2 victory from a goal down to Werder Bremen on Sunday to extend their advantage atop the Bundesliga to 16 points.
League top-scorer Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Mueller both struck doubles to secure the win despite a courageous performance from lowly Werder.
Bremen, who remain in the relegation play-off place, had led through Jerome Gondorff but Mueller levelled before half-time. An own goal from Niklas Suele cancelled Lewandowski's first but Bremen could not answer his second and Mueller made the game safe.
