Bayern Munich put the icing on the cake against Besiktas

Having won the first leg by a 5-0 scoreline, Bayern Munich already knew they were going to be in the draw for the quarter-finals of the Champions League, but they sealed their passage in style by defeating Besiktas 3-1 in Istanbul.

It took just 18 minutes for them to go ahead on the night, which they did when Thiago Alcantara converted Thomas Muller's cross.

A Gokhan Gonul own goal in the first minute of the second half then made it 2-0 on the night and 7-0 on aggregate, yet the Turkish side kept battling away and managed to score a consolation goal in the 58th minute via Vagner Love, who finished well under pressure from the German defence.

Of course, there wasn't ever going to be any comeback and Bayern scored another six minutes from time when Sandro Wagner chested in a deflected David Alaba cross.
