This edition of the Champions League has been a very special one for Rafa Benitez, as two of his former teams, Real Madrid and Liverpool, have reached the semifinals and have the possibility of facing each other in the final, a game the coach considers to be very entertaining.
Despite Madrid and Liverpool being the favourites to lift the title, the Spaniard believes all of the remaining teams in the elite competition have a chance for European glory.
"In the semifinals all teams have options," Benitez explained in an interview with Radio MARCA. "A Liverpool-Real Madrid final can be played and I think it will be very entertaining."
On the day of his birthday, the Newcastle coach also spoke about his potential stay with the Tyneside club.
"I have one more year on my contract and I am calm," the former Madrid coach revealed. "The board is trying to sit down and talk about the future to create a stronger team."
