Following a 2-1 loss to Wolfsburg, Borrusia Monchengladbach decided to part ways with coach Andre Schubert, who first arrived at the club in 2015.
With only one win in their last 11 in the Bundesliga, their performances weren't any better in the Champions League, where the Germans only managed a single win, away to Celtic.
Only three points above the drop, Schubert was understanding of the decision.
"After several friendly talks with the club, we've reached the conclusion that a fresh outside perspective would be the right measure so the club can be successful once again," he said.
Sporting director Max Eberl also mentioned that the decision reached was the right one.
"It is best for both parties," Eberl concluded.
