Southampton's record signing Sofiane Boufal could make his debut for the club in the Europa League against Inter Milan on Thursday. The attacking midfielder, 23, joined the Saints for £16m in the summer but is yet to play due to a knee injury. Midfielder Nathan Redmond plus defensive pair Cedric Soares and Matt Targett have not travelled to Italy.
The Saints are seven games unbeaten in all competitions and have four points from two Europa League games. The match at the San Siro will be the first meeting between the two clubs and comes six years after Inter last won the Champions League. That same season Southampton, then managed by Alan Pardew, won the Johnstone's Paint Trophy and finished seventh in League One. Inter have lost their opening two games in Group K, have lost three in a row in all competitions and are currently 11th in Serie A.
