A surreal situation took place in a match in the Second Division of the Brazilian football league, with the goalkeeper of Figueirense, Fabio, leaving the pitch by taxi, after asking for substitution, because of an embarrassing goal he conceded from the centre of the field.
The 38-year-old goalkeeper misjudged his exit from the goalpost, allowing the ball to end up in the back of the net.
Shortly before the break the visiting team, Boa Esporte Clube, scored a penalty to make the final 0-2, with Fabio asking to be replaced due to personal issues after arriving to the dressing room.
His coach accepted his wish and the protagonist of the story called for a taxi and departed the Orlando Scarpelli Stadium to his home.
Meanwhile, following the final whistle of the game, the club announced that the relationship between the two parts had been officially terminated as a result of the bizarre event.
