Former Barcelona and current Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has received a piece of bad news as he losses his mother Dolors Sala Carrió due to Coronavirus. She died at the age of 82 years in Barcelona, Spain.
Manchester City released an official statement on their Twitter page to confirm the news.
"The Manchester City family are devastated to report the death today of Pep’s mother Dolors Sala Carrió in Manresa, Barcelona after contracting coronavirus. She was 82 years old," the club stated.
"Everyone associated with the club sends their most heartfelt sympathy at this most distressing time to Pep, his family and all their friends."
Guardiola initially made a generous donation of ₦400 million (€1million) to help provide medical equipment in the fight against coronavirus in Spain but he has been hit with a tragic news as he lost his mother to the deadly disease.
