Manchester United midfielder, Bruno Fernandes, on Monday made history after being named Premier League Player of the Month for February.
Fernandes is now the first Man United player to win the Premier League Player of the Month award in his debut month in the English top-flight league since forward, Anthony Martial, in September 2015, according to Opta Joe.
The Portuguese international won the Premier League’s EA SPORTS Player of the Month award after making an impact in February.
The 25-year-old joined Man United from Sporting Lisbon in the January transfer window.
Fernandes has scored three goals and registered four assists for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men so far this season.
Speaking after receiving the award on Monday, Fernandes told Premier League’s official website: “Since I was a kid, it was a dream to play for Man United and to be there at Old Trafford is the biggest dream of my career.
“When you come to a new club, you always want to score, and the first goal is special. It doesn’t matter how the goal is scored, but important is the goal’s worth. I’m happy with my start, but from now on, I need to give more, to be better.”
