Veteran shotstpper Oliver Kahn had his say on the current situation of another veteran goalie Gianlugi Buffon at French Champions Paris Saint Germain. Buffon joins the Parisiens in the summer after spending 17 seasons at Juventus.
The former Juventus keeper is banned for two UEFA Champions League games due to the controversy between him and English referee Mark Oliver in their quarter final game against Real Madrid last season thus he is out of the squad for tomorrow clash with Liverpool but will still feature as the competition goes on.
So far this season in the French Ligue 1, the World cup winner has only featured for his new club twice, with France international Alphonse Areola getting a little edge above the Italian with three starts to his name, recently bagging one their last game in Ligue 1.
Speaking to Kicker, the German said that he doubted that “as a Juventus legend, Buffon joined Paris-Saint Germain to do them a favour. “He’s here to win the Champions League. Being a spectator on the bench really doesn't match his expectations.”
This is one of the trophy Buffon has failed to lift in his entire illustrious football career, unlike Oliver Kahn who won the jug-eared trophy once in 2001 with Bayern.
