The UEFA Champions League round of 16 draw was held in Nyon, Switzerland today and just few months after leaving Real Madrid Cristiano Ronaldo returns to play against Atletico Madrid.
Group winners: Barcelona (ESP, Group B), Bayern München (GER, Group E), Borussia Dortmund (GER, Group A), Juventus (ITA, Group H), Manchester City (ENG, Group F), Paris Saint-Germain (FRA, Group C), Porto (POR, Group D), Real Madrid (ESP, holders, Group G)
Group runners-up: Ajax (NED, Group E), Atlético Madrid (ESP, Group A), Liverpool (ENG, Group C), Lyon (FRA, Group F), Manchester United (ENG, Group H), Roma (ITA, Group G), Schalke (GER, Group D), Tottenham Hotspur (ENG, Group B).
The Draw procedure was in this form: Two seeding pots are formed: one consisting of group winners and the other of runners-up. No team can play a club from their group or any side from their own association. Seeded group winners are away in the round of 16.
