Championship club Aston Villa have promised Chelsea legend John Terry that he'd be in line to replace current manager Steve Bruce if he decides to join the club, claims Daily Star. The 36-year-old is set to become a free agent on July 1 and is currently a subject of a transfer battle between Midlands rivals Villa and Birmingham City.
The report from Daily Star also claims that Villa have offered a one-year deal worth £60,000-a-week wages to the former England skipper. Terry will also stand to earn £2m in bonus if Villa secure their return to Premier League next season.
