Chelsea star, Davide Zappacosta is close to joining Cristiano Ronaldo in the Italian Serie A as he set for a season-long loan move to AS Roma, according to reports in Sky Sports.
Since Ronaldo's move to Serie A last season, the league has caught the eyes of so many players around the world especially in Europe top five leagues.
The Italian right fullback has not featured for Chelsea this season under new head coach Frank Lampard and is surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge. He will undergo a medical later this week ahead of completing a move to the Stadio Olimpico.
Zappacosta moved to the Premier League in 2017 after joining the Blues from Italian outfit Torino during Antonio Conte's time at the Stamford Bridge and went on to feature 35 times during his debut season in England.
The Italian International was part of the squad that won the FA Cup in May 2018, but was an unused substitute during the 1-0 final victory over Manchester United at Wembley. He made only four Premier League appearances last season under Maurizio Sarri, with the majority of his performances coming in Chelsea's successful run to the Europa League title.
