Chippa United coach Dan Malesela refutes claims he suffered a heart attack

Chippa United coach Dan “Dance” Malesela has revealed to KickOff.com that he did not have a heart attack as was reported in the media last month. Malesela was admitted to hospital with a suspected heart problem on the 5th of March, but the 51-year-old has squashed rumours that it was a heart problem that landed him in hospital. “I’ve always been okay, hey. It’s not what was said, you know. The picture that was given was just extreme… people saying I had a heart attack. I never had a heart attack. It was a back pain that was all, but I’m fine now,” Malesela tells this website.

Malesela said going to Monday’s clash against Cape Town City they only have two players that are out. “Everything has been good going to City’s game, although we just had a setback of an injury. Diamond [Thopola] came from the national team with an injury. It’s the third time that he comes from a national team with an injury. It’s not that I’m complaining but I find it very strange, but we are fine, we are okay.” “Apart from that we are okay and Katlego Mashego is also out for this match. But the preparations for this match have been good. We’ve been training for Cape Town City and ourselves to say what do we do to win the game and how do we deal with them in terms of their attack and all those things, so that has been good.” The Chilli Boys take on City at the Athlone Stadium tomorrow tonight, with kick off scheduled for 7:30pm.
