Chelsea may need every advantage they can find to overcome Barcelona at the Camp Nou on Wednesday night, but Antonio Conte won't be praying for Andres Iniesta, who he compared to Andrea Pirlo, to miss out with injury.
The Spain international has been struggling with a hamstring injury and is expected to play some part against the Blues, which should make Conte happy."
"We are talking about a great player in Iniesta," the Chelsea coach said at his pre-match press conference.
"There are many great players, with great talent, and he is a genius of football.
"I don't know if he will play tomorrow, but in this type of game it is right to face the best players and not hope that they could miss out."
Conte was also asked about Eden Hazard and if the Belgian can be compared to Iniesta.
"We are talking about two different players," the Italian said. "Hazard is a No.10 and Iniesta is a thinking midfielder, who stays in the centre of the play.
"For me, Hazard can play as a second striker. "Iniesta has won a lot in his career and Hazard has to start to do the same."
Discussing Chelsea's chances in general, Conte explained that he remains pleased with the performance from the first leg.
"I think in the first leg we played a really good game and almost a perfect game against a team I consider one of the best in the world," he said." "The result from the first leg gives a great advantage for Barcelona. "We know the philosophy of Barcelona, to win the game, and we have to try to do our best and have great concentration. "There might be times we will suffer, but we have to be compact."
The match kicks off tonight at 20:45 CET.
