Belgian goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois has broken the record set by his predecessor at Real Madrid, Keylor Navas after another impressive display in Los Blancos' 4-0 away win over Eibar in the La Liga on Saturday.
The former Chelsea shootstopper was heavily criticised in his first season with the La Liga giants, but the Los Blancos number 13 has found his form again in between the sticks, and he has been impressive this season, keeping lots of clean sheets. He has now broken the record set by Navas after going 520 minutes without conceding a goal, 3 minutes better than the Costa Rican. The Paris Saint-Germain shots-topper’s record was 517 minutes.
Courtois has kept a total of eight clean sheets in all competitions this campaign, and five in a row. The run of five started in Real Madrid’s 1-0 win in the UEFA champions League away at Galatasaray, and it continued till the 4-0 win against Eibar.
The Belgian spoke on the confidence boosting run, saying he never doubted himself. Courtois said, “I never doubted myself, but people see it differently when you do concede. I have always felt that way. I keep working hard to help the team and improve my game”
