After the mountain of individual and team trophies handed to Cristiano Ronaldo in 2016, the Real Madrid star will be forced to find some more space on his mantelpiece for the Portuguese player of the year honour.
Along with the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and Club World Cup titles picked up with Los Blancos, Ronaldo helped his country to a shock Euro 2016 victory in France last summer.
"I'd like to thank my colleagues from Real Madrid, the national team, the coach, the staff, and above all the Portuguese fans," the winger said at the ceremony in Estoril.
Another gong handed out on Monday night was the coach of the year award, which went to national team boss Fernando Santos.
