Diego Costa: For the good of football, Benzema should play with France again

When asked about whether Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema should play for France, Diego Costa did not bite his tongue as he advocated that he get back in the squad.
Benzema was charged for his role in a 'sex tape scandal' after he encouraged Mathieu Valbuena - the man in the video - to pay the blackmailers who were demanding money; and this led to Benzema not being called up to the Euro 2016 squad.
"For the good of football, he should play with France," Diego Costa stated in an interview with Telefoot.
Nevertheless, France are a strong side without the 29-year-old and Costa sees them as a threat, while also not ruling out a move to French shores in the future.
"[France] are very strong, they showed it at Euro 2016," he continued.
"Playing in France, why not?"
While Benzema has been out of the squad, that has allowed Monaco's 18-year-old prodigy Kylian Mbappe to be called up to Didier Deschamps' group, a player Costa admires.
"Mbappe is a phenomenon, he's very strong and has everything there to become a great player," he followed on.
Meanwhile, the young French attacker heard of Costa's praise and was very gracious.
"I will continue working," he said, "and I am very flattered by Diego Costa's comments."
