Club America prospect Diego Lainez looks up to Lionel Messi as his idol, with the Liga MX youngster seeking to emulate and learn from the Argentina international's success in any way possible.
The 16-year-old has burst onto the scene this year and has lofty ambitions for his future already, with an interview only set to build the hype around his potential further.
"I identify with Leo Messi, I really like his style of play and I try to do certain things and learn from what he does," Lainez told Goal.
"I look to take players on a lot, play a lot of one-twos, but I also like to shoot from distance."
The teenager has already had plenty of experienced players around to lend a hand, with Club America's new starlet bound to drum up lots of attention over the coming months and years.
"They're all very good people, Darwin Quintero and William Da Silva have given me advice, and I am making the most of it," he explained.
