Nigerian billionaire, Femi Otedola has redeemed his pledge of $25000 per goal to Super Eagles in their semifinal match against Algeria. It should be recalled that Nigeria lost the game against the eventual champions but scored a goal courtesy of Odion Ighalo's strike from the spot.
Otedola alongside fellow business mogul Aliko Dangote promised Super Eagles team $75,000 (in total) per goal scored during the Semi-Final match against Algeria at the 2019 African Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt. Amaju Pinnick, President of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) revealed this while meeting with the players after the Quarter-final match against South Africa in Egypt.
Pinnick said while Africa’s richest businessman, Aliko Dangote promised $50,000 for every goal they score by the Super Eagles, Femi Otedola promised to pay $25,000 per goal during their Semi-Final match against Algeria on Sunday.
Otedola posted on his official instagram page with the caption: "Integrity is keeping your word. I redeemed my pledge of $25000 per goal to representatives of the Super Eagles (L-R) Chidi Ngoka (Equipment Manager), Enebi Achor (Team Manager) and Defender Kenneth Omeruo today in my office …F.Ote
