It is good news for the London based club as they keep hold of one of their priced assests. Dynel Simeu has inked a new deal with Premier League side Chelsea. Simeu is an England defender but he is also eligible to play Cameroon as he was born in the french speaking African country.
He was born in Yaoundé, Simeu has been rewarded with his first professional contract less than a week after he celebrated his seventeenth birthday. The central defender originally joined Chelsea as an U13 following a successful trial and penned a scholarship deal in the summer of 2018 along with Nigerian duo Jordan Aina and Faustino Anjorin.
The young lad was in a joyous which he can't keep to himself, as he took to instagram to announce the deal to his fans, sharing a picture of him alongside his family members as he signs the contract.
Commenting on the new deal, Simeu wrote on Instagram : ''Dream come true to have signed my first professional contract with @chelseafc Thankyou to my friends and family for guiding me till this point!''.
Simeu has represented and captained England U-15 and U-16 National Teams, and also has caps for the Young Lions at U17 level. But all these doesn't stop him from switching allegiance to country of his birth later in the future.
This season, Simeu has featured for Chelsea in various competitions notably in the U18 Premier League, UEFA Youth League and FA Youth Cup.
