DOUBTING LEICESTER CITY EDGE INTO THE UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUARTER FINAL

Leicester City booked a quarterfinal place in the UEFA Champions league after a 2-0 victory over the 10 men of Sevilla on Tuesday. The English champions won the tie 3-2 on aggregate as goals from Wes Morgan and Marc Albrighton sealed their path, while Sevilla missed a chance to square the tie when former Stoke City midfielder Steven N'Zonzi saw his penalty saved by Kasper Schmeichal in the home goal. Sevilla had ex-Arsenal playmaker Samir Nasri sent-off with 15 minutes remaining for a second bookable offense after a clash with City forward Jamie Vardy.

Leicester have had a dismal season, but have been vastly improved since the axing of coach Claudio Ranieri, who led them to one of the biggest shocks in sport as they claimed the English League title. Now they find themselves in the quarterfinals of the Champions League having beaten Europa League holders Sevilla. In the other tie on Tuesday night, Juventus cruised into the Last 8 with a 1-0 win over FC Porto that gave them a 3-0 aggregate success. A penalty from Paulo Dybala was enough for the win, with Porto having Uruguayan Maximiliano Pereira sent-off for hand-ball in the incident that led to the spot-kick.
