Edinson Cavani is ready to end talk of a move to Chelsea or Manchester United by signing a new contract at Paris Saint-Germain. The striker is currently the top scorer in France this season with a stunning 18 goals in 17 Ligue 1 games. The Uruguayan's form has led to him being linked with a big-money move to either Chelsea or Manchester United in the summer transfer window. But such a transfer now seems unlikely as, according to L'Equipe, Cavani is ready to agree a new contract with PSG.
The 29-year-old's current deal expires in less than 18 months’ time, but that is set to be extended until June 2020. Cavani's new contract will also reportedly contain a hefty wage hike and an official announcement regarding his fresh terms is expected during the middle of January.
