Erwin Isaacs feels Ajax Cape Town can play without pressure against Mamelodi Sundowns on Tuesday

Ajax Cape Town utility player Erwin Isaacs tells KickOff.com they will be happy with a “smash and grab” result when they face champions Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld tomorrow. The Urban Warriors are five points off the relegation zone with just six matches remaining this season, and now come up against a Sundowns side looking to successfully defend their league crown. Few have given the Mother City side any chance against the Brazilians this week, but Isaacs feels there are a number of factors that could play to Ajax’s advantage. “That’s why it’s important that we remain positive, you know,” Isaacs tells KickOff.com. “The thing is nobody gives us a chance against Sundowns and that’s fine. In fact, it suits as better as there is no pressure on us.

“The pressure is all on them as they are the home team as well. I think this will play in our favour but we have to remain positive as we can surprise them. “The idea is to smash and grab a point, anything more will be a bonus for us,” the 30-year-old former Bidvest Wits player states. According to the ex-Santos goal poacher, he would like to finish his career at Ajax as well as help the team achieve further success in the future, although he admits there have been no developments in terms of a new deal at Ikamva. “There’s been no word about a new contract but I’m sure this will be sorted out in the near future. Ajax is a good fit for me and I’m hoping to further add value to the team,” he concludes.
