Former Nigeria youth international Funsho Bamgboye has penned a two-and-a-half-year deal with Hungarian  top-flight club Szombathelyi Haladas, Completesportsnigeria.com reports. Bamgboye, who turned 18 on Monday, was courted by a number of top European clubs but opted to sign for Halads after getting an assurance he will be part of the first team set up at the club.
"Haladas gave us an assurance that Funsho has the opportunity to play first team football provided he continue to show the quality that was evident during the trials," Greg Keenan, Bamgboye's agent from Barcelona based agency Aspire Management, informed Completesportsnigeria.com. "We decided on Haladas as the perfect platform for him to launch his European career rather than him going to a bigger club where he will not play regular football."
The youngster was part of Nigeria's U-17 squad that won the title at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile in 2015. Haladas currently sit in seventh place in the 12 team Hungarian Premier League table.
