FIFA have released the ten nominees for 2018 “The Best” award, the nominees were named by a selected jury which are mostly football legends.

The Jury includes Ronaldo Nazario, Fabio Capello, Kaka, Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard, Lothar Matthaus, Alessandro Nesta, Carlos Alberto Parreira, Emmanuel Amunike, Sami Al-Jaber, Cha Bum-kun, Andy Roxburgh and Wynton Rufer.

The nominees on the list are Cristiano Ronaldo, Kevin de Bruyne, Antoine Griezmann, Eden Hazard, Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, Luka Modric, Mohamed Salah, and Raphael Varane.

This will be the third edition of the award with the previous two editions being won by Cristiano Ronaldo while he was at Real Madrid but have switched sides to Juventus in Italy.

Lionel Messi is up again for the award after having a wonderful domestic campaign winning both the La liga title and Copa del Rey, also adding the European golden boot.

Meanwhile, the Europa League and World Cup winner, Antoine Griezmann will have to compete with the Champions League winner and World Cup finalist, Luka Modric for the award.

The likes of Mbappe, Salah, Kane, Varane and Hazard are making their debut for the prestigious award.
