FIFA 2018 World cup
The FIFA 2018 World cup in Russia has been a tournament filled with a lot of surprises, as the so-called big team have failed to qualify at the expense of the small teams.The likes of Germany, Spain, Argentina, Portugal and Columbia have all been sent packing and we are left with few top teams in the competition.
Out of the eight teams left in the competition only Brazil, Uruguay, France and England have won the competition before which shows there is a possibility of having a new winner.
We are already in the Quarterfinal stage of the competition, which will begin tomorrow with a top-notch encounter between a defending Uruguayan side against the all attacking French side which will take place in Nizhny Novgorod Stadium.
The next game in the evening will be a test game for a potential favourites Brazil as they take on the “Golden Generation” side Belgium at the Kazan Arena to know who will make it to the semi-final stage, it is going to be a star-studded fixture with the likes of Neymar and Hazard who are ready to lift their teams up to show who is superior.
The third game of the Quarterfinal stage will take place in Samara Arena as the Three Lions will lock horns with Sweden on Saturday, and the English striker Harry Kane hoping to increase his goal tally and go on to win the golden boot .
The last game of this stage will be between the host nation Russia and the Modric-led Croatian side at the Fisht Stadium. It is going to be a close encounter as both teams have been the surprise of this tournament, Russia taking out Spain on penalties and Croatia disgracing one of the tournament favourites Argentina in the group stages 3-0 to win their group with 9 points.
