FIFA's 'The Best' XI: Five from Real Madrid

10 months ago  Raphael   Sport News

In a sign of just how much Real Madrid have dominated European football throughout 2016, five of their players have been selected for FIFA's 'The Best' Gala XI.
Cristiano Ronaldo is the favourite to walk away with the individual award for best player of the year, and he forms part of the XI along with teammates Sergio Ramos, Luka Modric, Marcelo and Toni Kroos.
Only the Brazilian was missing from UEFA's own Team of the Year, their defence made up of Ramos, Boateng, Pique and Bonucci.
Messi and Griezmann will be vying for the FIFA crown as they were in the Ballon d'Or ceremony, and we await the names of the goalkeeper, the two defenders that accompany Ramos and Marcelo and the third midfielder.
Gianluigi Buffon and Andres Iniesta were the players who completed UEFA's XI.
Strangley, Los Blancos are not optimistic regarding the prize for Best Coach.
Zinedine Zidane has worked wonders at Real, losing only two games in the calendar year, however Leicester's Claudio Ranieri remains the favourite.
