A feisty 1-1 draw didn't disappoint, with the intensity reaching boiling point between the two sides, and Atletico Madrid left-back Filipe Luis wasn't too happy with a Luis Suarez challenge that left his foot injured.
Almost immediately after the match, Luis took to social media to call out the Blaugrana striker's rough play.
"Thank god he didn't make contact," the defender said ironically in frustration.
The Uruguayan was quick to respond with heated comments of his own.
"Football is a man's game, and all that happens on the pitch stays there," Suarez countered. "If every time someone gets kicked, they post a photo online, this [sport] would become just like a circus."
