Five (5) Super Eagles stars to watch out for against Brazil

1 month ago  Raphael   Sport News

Come Sunday, we will be in for quite a thrilling weekend of international football in the Southeast of Asia as the Super Eagles take on Brazil at the National Stadium in Singapore, games hardly come any bigger surely. This one undoubtedly has all the trappings of a high-profile clash and aside the glut of scouts who will come to feast their eyes on the abundance of talents sure to be on show, soccer-loving Nigerians will monitor proceedings and hope their team come off with their heads held high from the encounter.
Nigeria manager, Gernot Rohr has gone about assembling the best of the country's crop at his disposal for this clash and here, we will look at five of them who will most likely be turning on the style;

Tyronne Ebuehi: Back in the fold after fighting a severe injury cropped since 2018, the youngster will be itching to force his way into the team yet. His talents are never in doubt and is ever made more plausible considering Benfica's stance on him notwithstanding the troubles he's had. He's yet to feature for the senior side in the Primeira Liga this season but that could change if he justifies his readiness in this very important game.

Ramon Azeez: Azeez has been in the international wilderness for over five years but is back following a string of solid displays for Granada in La Liga and it is easy to guess viewers will be eager to see more what he has in his locker room should he get game time here. While the midfielder has put his resurgence down to his team's support and the faith Diego Martinez has shown in him, this could be the perfect opportunity to win such measure of belief for himself in the national team.

Alex Iwobi:
It must be said that the glitz and urgency the Big 17 put up in the opposition final third in games upon the start of his Everton career has all but faded.
Now, the romance has ended and The Tofee Blues have suffered ever since. The losses are piling up more than the victories and whilst it is not particularly his fault, if there is one criticism of Iwobi which has lingered irrespective of his evident maturity, it is that he does not hurt the opposition often enough.
Will his adventure against the world football powerhouse be some sort of renaissance, and the start of that extra spark missing from his games for Everton?

Wilfred Ndidi: It is no secret that the very lucid things Ndidi excels at needs no extra touch. Simply put, his displays in the middle of the park for his team is uniquely stereotypical. Quite why the Super Eagles failed to kill off a game after being two goals up at half time albeit in their last game brings us all back to the knowledge of not having the Leicester City man in action on the day.
With him in the side now, the team can now afford to manage the tempo of a game when in winning positions, thanks to his tailored approach and game-reading brilliance.

Victor Osimhen: The numbers Osimhen is swiftly accruing since his summer switch to France is simply impressive, to say the least. So much has been said as regards his fast bedding into the rhythm of the play in Ligue 1, and it is already a wide belief he has done enough to be installed as the rightful heir to Nigeria's striking position.
He's already started the procession himself and after getting off the mark for the Super Eagles versus Ukraine, it could be the South Americans who next gets to feel the pain of his clinical composure and quick limbs.
