After Manchester United 3-2 loss to Brighton in the weekend, Paul Scholes criticised Pogba’s performance in the game that saw the French international scored another penalty.
Scholes said the reason why the team lost was because they ‘lacked leaders’ on the pitch, with Pogba wearing the captain’s armband in the absence of Antonio Valencia and that the Frenchman had ‘another really poor game’.
He also added: ‘I just don’t think he [Pogba] uses his brain enough’.
The former Juventus player’s agent Mino Raiola hit back at the Old Trafford hero, saying on Twitter: ‘[Scholes] wouldn’t recognise a leader if he was in front of Sir Winston Churchill’.
Another football agent Paul Smith backed his counterparts for supporting his clients over the issue, saying the Manchester United legend turn pundit is not qualified to criticise Paul Pogba.
“He’s got to be a bit careful. When you’re paid to be a pundit, you’re there to be attacked as well.
“I’m not sure why the agent should have to get involved, but he’s fiercely protective of his client and actually, why shouldn’t he say something?
“Pogba is a World Cup winner and a class act. Why should you have to listen to criticism from people who maybe aren’t best placed to give it?”
