Four star Roma dominate AC Milan to move second in Serie A

1 week from now  Raphael   Sport News

A dominant display from Roma saw off a poor AC Milan side to move back above Napoli into second in the Serie A table, with Edin Dzeko grabbing a brace and an assist in the rout.
Dzeko got his 26th and 27th goals of the Serie A season inside the opening half hour, before Mario Pasalic gave the Rossoneri a lifeline 76 minutes in, but an almost instant reply from Stephan El Shaarawy put the game to bed.
Then with four minutes left Gabriel Paletta was sent off for a last ditch foul on Mohamed Salah in the 18-yard box, thus the referee pointing to the spot - Daniele De Rossi slotted home the penalty.
The result leaves Roma one point above Napoli, though their next match is at home to Juventus, which if the Bianconeri win, they will be confirmed winners of the Scudetto at the Stadio Olimpico.
It took just eight minutes for Dzeko to put his name on the scoresheet. Excellent combination play between Mohamed Salah and the Bosnian allowed him a yard of space to unleash a curling shot from the edge of the penalty area.
Gianluigi Donnarumma tipped a Diego Perotti shot onto the post, before Wojciech Szczesny expertly saved a Jose Sosa long ranger.
Dzeko should have scored when he fired over from 12 yards out, but made amends 28 minutes in as he met a Leandro Paredes corner to head home Roma's second of the night.
With Radja Nainggolan dominating midfield, he combined with Salah in a swift counter attack but low shot from edge of area was tipped onto post by Donnarumma
The second period was quiet for the majority until Pasalic netted a diving header at the back post after a neat flick from Lucas Ocampos.
All hope Milan had of a comeback was extinguished two minutes later as El Shaarawy rifled a Dzeko knockdown into the top corner.
Things went from bad to worse as Paletta picked up his fourth red card of the season for pulling Slash to the ground in the penalty box. De Rossi made no mistake with the spot kick though Donnarumma did get a hand to it.
