Gabriel Rejects New Contract offer from City

8 months ago  Raphael   Sport News

Gabriel Jesus has rejected Manchester City’s latest contract offer and will wait until after the 2018 World Cup for fresh talks, reports The Times. The Brazilian has failed to live up to expectation this season after proving an instant hit for City in the second half of last season.

According to whoscored.com, Jesus still has more than three years to run on his existing £65,000-a-week deal but Pep Guardiola’s side are determined to secure his long-term future.

The 20-year-old is still highly thought of by City despite his struggles this season but Jesus’ camp are demanding in excess of £100,000-a-week to renew.

The Cityzens board are offering the young brazilian a contract worth £90,000-a-week and now Jesus has delayed talks until the conclusion of the World Cup this summer.

The team led by Guardiola are confident that Jesus will sign a new deal at the Etihad stadium, but they maybe forced to add even more if he performs wonderfully well at the world cup in Russia.
